Our client is Australia’s largest grower, packer and marketer of premium quality fresh fruit and vegetables, being supplied to all major Australian supermarket chains as well as exported to Asia, North America and Europe. From this market leading position, this company works incredibly hard to keep improving the quality of their produce and the service they deliver to their customers. Due to extensive growth within the avocado industry the company are presently seeking a Southern Area Farm Manager to join their team.
Reporting to the Regional Operations Manager, the purpose of the Southern Area Farm Manager will be to lead and support the planning and management of avocado growing operations across two sites in South East QLD with a total of approx. 18,000 trees, to ensure the highest possible yield and quality.
Education and Experience
The ideal candidate will have experience managing a horticultural operation, preferably in the tree-crop industry with proven ability to manage people. Experience in working on new developments will be advantageous whilst strong communication skills, patience and determination will be key in the success of this role.
Post-secondary qualification in horticulture, agriculture or similar will be highly regarded, whilst an understanding of agronomic principles and mechanical aptitude will be essential.
An attractive remuneration package inclusive of accommodation and company vehicle will be negotiated to reflect skills and experience.
