Located within the hub of the cattle industry, this local stockfeed distributor is focused on supplying high quality feed and nutrition options for local farmers to optimise production and ensure healthy and profitable livestock enterprises. Highly regarded through the region, the company have a strong presence in the community and can be relied upon for providing expert technical and professional advice on nutrition and stock supplements. The business also supplies hay, grain and other general merchandise products to meet local livestock requirements


This opportunity is well suited to a customer focused individual with a strong entrepreneurial streak, as the Livestock Nutrition Manager will be chiefly responsible for ensuring customers are provided with sound livestock nutrition advice and premium stockfeed. As a member of the leadership team the Livestock Nutrition Manager will have strategic input into the overall direction of the business. Overseeing the day-to-day operations, mentoring the team and developing their livestock knowledge and sales capabilities are key aspects of this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage stockfeed and general merchandise sales
  • Advise customers and clients on stock nutrition
  • Assist in forecasting sales strategies and seasonal product planning
  • Developing promotions and conducting local field days
  • Manage key supplier relationships
  • Provide exemplary customer service and manage key accounts

Education and Experience

  • Tertiary qualifications in Agricultural Science or nutrition are not essential
  • Sound understanding of stock nutrition and animal health
  • An understanding of grazing techniques, pasture management and animal production
  • Strong business acumen
  • Excellent sales and negotiation skills
  • Well organised with attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Able to demonstrate initiative, drive and enthusiasm
