This company specialises in managing assets for institutional investors with a diversified, agriculture portfolio and significant new sustainable developments in Australia. With a focus on reducing environmental impact, this company actively manages investments in tree crops, viticulture and intensive row crops. To implement their commitment to sustainable management practices on a 1380ha almond orchard, the company is seeking an experienced Irrigation Supervisor.


Reporting to the Farm Manager, the Irrigation Supervisor will be primarily responsible for overseeing the day-to-day irrigation operations of the orchard, supervising a team of Irrigation Hands to assist with operating the irrigation systems to optimise sustainable growth and production of the orchard.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Farm Manager to develop and implement irrigation programs
  • Oversee and implement the installation and maintenance of irrigation infrastructure
  • Ensure irrigation employees receive adequate training and supervision
  • Promote safe work practices through consultation and communication
  • Assist with general orchard maintenance from time to time as required

Skills and Experience

  • 2-5 years experience working on large-scale horticultural enterprises
  • Experience in the almond industry will be highly regarded
  • Knowledge of drip irrigation systems, system design and function are essential
  • Proven supervision and leadership experience
  • An unencumbered Driver’s Licence is essential
  • A current ChemCert is advantageous
  • Post-secondary qualifications in horticulture, irrigation, agriculture or similar will be highly regarded
