This company is a local, progressive business operating mixed livestock properties in the South West Slopes NSW. The company’s primary focus is to produce the best quality beef, prime lambs and wool within financially and environmentally sustainable production systems. This innovative company is following industry best practice and is a strong supporter of Lifetime Ewe Management and soft stock handling techniques.

The business is seeking a driven Farm Manager for a 2000ha property which includes 500ha of creek and river flats, giving rise to rolling hills and a fertile ground running along the Murrumbidgee River. With a mixture of dry land and irrigation the current carrying capacity is 25,000 DSE.

The prime function of the Farm Manager will be to implement operational and strategic plans in a hands-on manner. Supervising all livestock enterprises to achieve volume, quality and cost objectives will be key. The Farm Manager will take responsibility for implementing industry best practice to achieve sustainable business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the livestock program relating to prime lamb and beef cattle production
  • Supervise all full-time and casual employees and contractors
  • Implement the annual whole farm plan
  • Carry out property developments including fencing, water and pasture improvements
  • Maintain accurate and up to date farm records and submit monthly reports
  • Adhere to WHS policies and legislation at all times

Skills and Experience

  • Previous experience in a farm management role with responsibilities to manage staff
  • Sound knowledge of livestock husbandry with an emphasis on livestock production
  • Low stress stock handling skills
  • Previous experience with pasture management, pasture renovation and fodder conservation in a mixed grazing operation
  • Proficient skills in MS office programs and proven experience utilising and implementing digital farm management software


  • Post-secondary qualifications in agriculture or farm management
  • Experience with Lifetime Ewe Management
  • A willingness to undertake ongoing training in grazing management and low stress stock handling
