Job Description

Cropping Overseer – TL3175

- Large-scale broadacre cropping enterprise

This large scale broadacre cropping and contracting business is establishing a significant presence in the Central West of NSW. Currently working within a 4-year cropping rotation, this company utilises precision agricultural technology to produce Canola, Wheat and Barley over more than 8,000 hectares. To continue driving the cropping enterprise to optimal sustainable production this company is seeking an experienced Cropping Overseer to take on daily management and implementation of their annual cropping plan.


Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the Cropping Overseer will be responsible for meeting daily operational requirements of the farm, in support of the annual business plan, to achieve maximum sustainable production and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all seasonal cropping activities across the operation
  • Assist to plan and implement on-farm strategies to deliver optimum returns
  • Work closely with the management team, advisors and consultants
  • Develop and empower the team to develop on-farm initiatives and build ownership
  • Foster a strong Health and Safety culture by ensuring WHS and Environmental policies and practices are implemented

Skills and Experience

  • Extensive experience in dry land cropping or broadacre farm management systems
  • Sound agronomic knowledge of agricultural chemicals and plant nutrition
  • Experience in machinery operation to optimise plant and machinery efficiency
  • Computer literacy in farm management software and MS Office (Word and Excel)
  • Natural leadership skills and experience in staff and contractor management


  • Post-secondary qualification in Agriculture or Business Management (desirable)
  • Current unencumbered ordinary driver’s licence and heavy vehicle licence
  • Chemical Users Accreditation
  • Current First Aid certificate or willingness to complete
