Our Client

This company is a privately-owned macadamia enterprise with an aim to produce premium nut in shell and kernel for Domestic and International markets through management procedures that are formulated with long-term sustainability in mind.

The company presently manage 6,000 acres of macadamia orchards in Queensland with plans to double production within the next 10-15 years.


The Fleet Maintenance Manager will liaise with the Head of Maintenance and Farm Supervisors to develop a preventative maintenance program for the company’s fleet of tractors, harvesters, loaders, sprayers, trucks, trailers, excavators, light vehicles and other general farm machinery.

The main focus of this role is to plan maintenance activities to ensure all machinery is prepared for operational spray and harvest programs to commence on time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop a preventative maintenance program for machinery, plant and equipment
  • Manage data collection on individual machine service history
  • Manage parts and inventory to ensure correct stock, supply and availability
  • Assist in researching new machinery to continually mechanise work requirements
  • Assist in designing and constructing new equipment to meet our demands
  • Manage permanent and casual staff to ensure their safety, the longevity of the plant and equipment and the quality and productivity of the work

Skills and Experience

  • Extensive mechanical experience with agricultural machinery and heavy transport vehicles
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and team leadership skills
  • The ability to initiate preventative action and provide support to the team
  • Experience solving complex problems and managing conflicting priorities


  • A current driver’s licence
  • A Heavy Rigid (HR) licence (preferred)
  • A trade certificate in a Diesel or Automotive Discipline (highly regarded but not necessary)
