Reporting to the Southern Regional Manager, the Farm Manager will lead and manage the orchard team through the development and implementation of a greenfield site. The Farm Manager will be responsible for operational and developmental planning to achieve budgets and targeted sustainable yields.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implementation of annual orchard management plans and budgets
  • Provide leadership and hands-on management to ensure the performance of the orchard team
  • Manage irrigation systems and fertigation processes
  • Plan and develop tree health programs
  • Implement integrated pest management programs
  • Ensure compliance with WH&S policies and procedures
  • Manage stakeholder interests

Education and Experience

  • Previous experience in large-scale production horticulture or tree crop enterprise
  • Senior leadership experience with the capacity to motivate a team
  • Sound business acumen, numeracy and financial management skills
  • A high standard of written and verbal communication
  • Tertiary qualification in agriculture or horticulture are desirable but not essential
